The Acquabona Golf Course on Elba has a very special atmosphere that you can feel immediately. It is picturesquely nestled in the hilly landscape of the island, with views that take your breath away. On one side, you see the lush, dense vegetation of Elba, and on the other, the deep blue sea shimmers in the distance. It is a small course with 9 holes, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with charm and challenge.

The holes are challenging, primarily due to the natural conditions. There are narrow fairways lined with pine trees, steep ascents and descents that turn each round into a little adventure. You really have to plan your game strategically, especially when the wind blows in from the sea.

The course itself is very well maintained, but in a pleasantly natural way. It doesn’t feel overly manicured; instead, it fits perfectly into its surroundings. The greens are small, requiring precision in putting, and the bunkers are cleverly placed – some might say almost a little too clever.

The clubhouse is small and cozy, with a relaxed, almost familial atmosphere. The people working there are warm and welcoming – they greeted us with an espresso and a smile. Even though it is not a huge, luxurious golf course, you can feel that every detail has been cared for. A true highlight for golfers seeking an authentic, nature-oriented experience.
